Rebellion is nigh in Matilda JR., a gleefully witty ode to the the anarchy of childhood and the power of imagination! This story of a girl who dreams of a better life and the children she inspires will have audiences rooting for the "revolting children" who are out to teach the grown-ups a lesson.
Matilda has astonishing wit, intelligence... and special powers! She's unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her schoolteacher, the highly loveable Miss Honey. Matilda's school life isn't completely smooth sailing, however – the school's mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and just loves thinking up new punishments for those who don't abide by her rules. But Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts, and could be the school pupils' saving grace!
Auditions for this fall’s production of Matilda JR will be August 15th All students should be prepared with a 30-second monologue and a 30-second cut from any Broadway song with a background track. You may also be asked to sing a selection from the show and read from the script for callback purposes.
Dates: Tuesdays 4:30-7pm, August 18th
Tech Week and Performance: 11/9-11/15
Grades: 6-8 (7th and 8th grade students may submit an audition for the Centre Stage Theatre Company production)
Tuition: $400
Location: Stillwater Community Center, Room TBD
Tuition for all classes includes scripts, music, and materials. Parents may be asked to supply materials for costumes. Additional Saturday rehearsals (TBD) may be scheduled to prepare for upcoming theatrical performances when needed.
Payment plans are available as needed, with the entire amount being due by the conclusion of the program. Please select the payment plan option and pay the $50 non-refundable deposit at the time of enrollment to guarantee a spot. Our payment plans are flexible.
